We're pleased to introduce damronjr's 2004 Vibe to you as the December 2005 Vibe of the Month. damronjr's full write-up is below. You can also view additional photos of his Vibe. For this month, Jason (damronjr) has written his own blurb for the article including his Vibe's modifications and many other tidbits.

Quoted from damronjr:

"Ok, where to start! My wife Claudia and I bought our 2004 Pontiac Vibe base in January of 2004. It had like 4 miles on it. It was a satellite mono, with the power group package and Moon and Tunes package. Originally it was bought (I traded in my 2002 Chevrolet S-10 Xtreme ;() to be a family grocery-getter as we had a baby boy, Donovan Elijah, due in 7mos.

Anyways, my first mod was a 4-piece billet grill that I got from Mr. Grill on Ebay. I got the rear cargo carpet and cover from my dealer. I got my windows tinted in Tijuana, Mexico. I got a Progress rear sway bar on Ebay and sold it to another genvibe.com member after I got the Hotchkis kit. Next came a set of Eibach Pro-kit springs and a Flowmaster resonator-back exhaust. Got the dragon yin-yang seat covers, dragon window vinyl, dragon window deflectors, dragon yin-yang steering wheel cover, and dragon yin-yang license plate frame from Wal-mart! Got the dragon pedal covers from Autozone. Got a billet antenna on Ebay which I promptly broke off in a drive-thru car wash now leaving me with horrible radio reception.

I got XM radio in the form of a XM Commander, which was later replaced by an Alpine CDA-9833 head unit with built in XM. My stereo system currently consists of the Alpine CDA-9833 head unit, a JL 300.4 amplifier for the doors, 6.5” Polk Momo’s in the front doors, PowerBass tweeters, JL Audio 6.5” in the rear doors, a Phoenix Gold Tantrum amplifier for the sub, and a JL Audio 10” W7 in a custom box. I originally had a Scosche line converter with the PG amp and sub hooked up to the stock stereo!

Next I got my rims, 19” Axis Spiders, from a member here on genvibe.com, Ballrub, who actually brought them all the way from Los Angeles (Whittier) down here to San Diego in his sweet Vibe GT to deliver them and still gave me an awesome price ($650 rims and tires!).

Let’s see, at some point I got all of my vinyl decals from Ryan at Grafxwerks.com, including the blinker covers. I got a couple of "sponsorships” from carsponsorships.com and sportcompactpro.com. I will not recommend these to anyone, but I have them nonetheless. I got a side-vinyl kit (which I still haven’t installed) from decalkits.com through the carsponsorships.com deal.

I switched strut assemblies with someone here on base for his ST lowering springs, which I later sold to Sam (Arcsvibe) after I got my Hotchkis set-up. I got my Injen cold air intake from Mantaray Motorsports Racing (mmrusa.com) here in San Marcos CA. I found my Hotchkis set-up (front and rear sway bars, springs, and strut tower bar with camber plates) on Craigslist.com from a guy who’s roommate had bought them for his Matrix but then sold his Trix, moved out, and left the stuff there still new in the boxes and plastic ($350 for everything!)! Installed the springs, rear sway bar, and strut tower bar at a local Matrixowners meet here in San Diego. I still have the front sway bar waiting to be installed.

I think next would be the Psychovibe body kit (front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, roof caps, and fenders) that I got through the group buy on genvibe.com through Aerogear (which I also still have not installed). Had Andre (drayday55) paint some parts of it to include the roof caps that are installed, the fenders, and the side skirts. I cracked the front bumper after installing it and the rear for fitment, which needs to be repaired before paint and install.

Next came the supercharger which I managed to pull on Ebay for $1300 and Andre also installed that for me. I got a water injection kit (yet to be installed!), supercharger engine cover cut-out template, and a G-Tech Pro SS from Brian (bluecrush) for an awesome price. I got Hella horns(also yet to be installed) from Mike (ragingfish). I got a B&M auto tranny cooler from ebay (yet another thing waiting to be installed).

Ooh, I got JP headers from Ultraviolet here on GVC for a great price (still waiting to be installed!).

Damn, I hope that’s it, and that leads me to my latest installation which was also done by Andre and my brother-in-law Andres, a full air-bag suspension kit that I got from a semi-local Matrix owner via Craigslist for $500! Still having some troubles with it, but it is fully functional and running (already got pulled over on base for raising the rear end while I was driving, oops, warning!).

Hoping to get all my stuff laying around installed and get a carbon fiber hood. Nitrous is in the plans, as well as a neon kit. Want to get chipped, paint, vertical doors, midpipe, and who knows what else! I also just joined a local car club called Team CalistreetR San Diego CA the other day. Apparently I have the best car in the club now and we are partially sponsored by ARD Performance!"
