The Ohio Vibe/Matrix Rally was held in Columbus, Ohio at Dan Tobin Pontiac on August 23rd, 2003. We had estimates of approximately 23 vehicles that were in attendance for this event. Being allowed to use Dan Tobin Pontiac's lot for the rally was greatly appreciated - we had more than enough room to show off our vehicles and also chat up with the staff of the dealership.

As the Ohio Rally was majorly based to have the current Vibe/Matrix owners from Ohio to meet up with their vehicles, we also had a large number of owners join us from surrounding regions including Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New Jersey, and Canada. Our sole Canadian participant, Juliana (AtWork), made the trek down to the Ohio Rally as well as the Northeast Rally that was held just a few weeks earlier - definitely a hardcore enthusiast! :) We also can't forget to give credit to Mike (ragingfish) for driving the hours from New Jersey to join up with us!

For the majority of the rallies held this year, the weather has been perfect. The same could have been said for the Ohio Rally - we had sunny skies and very warm temperatures. I'm sure there were plenty of people who got a good share of sun hanging outside all day - I know I did!

This rally, as all others, gives everyone the opportunity to meet fellow forum members in person that they frequently correspond with online. As I am sure everyone would agree, we have a great big group of awesome enthusiasts to mingle with - and it gets better with every rally!

At this rally, we had the opportunity, time, and expertise on-hand to install an Injen Cold Air Intake in Juliana's (mentioned above) Vibe GT. Mike (mentioned above) helped out with this install as well as others in attendance. Mike also had a helping hand (from Sheldon "scherry2") in installing side mirror turn signal indicators on his Vibe (pictures are posted in the discussion linked to the right). With a big group of willing-to-help people at our rally, this made almost any modification installation a breeze - and welcomed!

Nearing the end of our rally, a few of the attendees stopped over at a close-by Celica meet. Our sole Matrix attendee (we will have more Matrix at our next meet!) probably felt more at home with the Toyota Celica group, but I know he had a great time hanging out with the Vibe owners as well. :) He had a very sharp Matrix - glad to have you there - we're all family.

After the meet, the remaining members all headed over to Fuddruckers for dinner. Our convoy to the restaurant, consisting of 9 vehicles, was another fun highlight of the day. Passer-bys definitely had their eyes open wide in interest as they saw our convoy heading down the street. At the restaurant, we continued to talk and have fun while finally getting to take a break from the sun.

Many thanks go out to all the members in attendance for we couldn't pull it off without all your combined support! Specifically, many thanks also go out to Matt (msmyer) for creating the vehicle info placards and to Dan Tobin Pontiac for giving us the time and space to hold this rally! We all hope to see you out at our next event!
