The Northeast Vibe/Matrix Rally was held in Milford Beach, Pennsylvania on August 2nd, 2003. Approximately 35 vehicles were in attendance for this event.

The rally was held in the Milford Beach area of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. We had a large open field at our disposal, but officially we all lined up towards the one side of the field (view photo gallery at right). This setting gave everyone the opportunity to fire up their grills, sit out, relax, and to swim!

The weather was beautiful - partly cloudy and temperatures were quite warm. The heat did not stop anyone from enjoying the sights of all the vehicles in attendance. The ratio of Vibe and Matrix was almost split even, a perfect collection of fully stock, minorly modified, and fully modified vehicles.

Rather than being used to mingle with members primarily of GenVibe.com (as in the Michigan Rally), we all had the opportunity to meet other fellow members of MatrixOwners.com and MatrixVibe.net. Finally placing a real life face on the membernames you see in the forums is one of the best aspects of a rally of this nature. By seeing the time and quality people put into their vehicles makes you appreciate being amongst this group of people - everyone gets along and can relate similar stories of their own.

Although unfortunately no SuperCharged Vibe or GM representatives could make it out to this rally, we still all had a great time. Even though the GM reps could not attend the event, they do read up on the forums and look at all the photos from our rallies in order to gain a bigger aspect into these vehicles and their owners.

Surprisingly, one of the more unusual highlights at the event was checking out the Canadian Vibe driven down by Juliana (AtWork). She made the trek all the way from Canada to hang out with us and that was awesome! One of the best parts of the Canadian Vibe is that the speedometer is primarily based in Kilometers rather than Miles. To a native US citizen, the Kilometer-based speedometer would look as if you were driving almost twice as fast as you were in Miles. Another different feature of this nature would be the display of the Outside Temperature reading in Celcius (Canada) compared to Fahrenheit (US).

Overall, we had members join us for this rally from Canada, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland, and more! That just goes to show you how much fun these rallies can be! If you can make it out to a rally in your area, try to do so! You won't regret it.

Be sure to check out the right-hand column for links to various member's photo galleries and forum discussions of this particular event, as well as individually selected photos for this article. To see if a rally is planned near you, head on over to the GenVibe Forums to view and create posts in your region.

In closing, we could not have had this event without the help and support of everyone in attendance - especially Mike (ragingfish) for putting this whole awesome event together! We all look forward to another get together soon!
