What may have felt like an eternity to occur, Vibe owners will hopefully
feel satisfied that it appears some aftermarket companies are finally
starting to embrace the Vibe. Lack of overall support from the aftermarket
sector (and even GM) have left Vibe owners generally disappointed
in their quest to modify and enhance their vehicles to its fullest.
This year at the 2004 SEMA Show, the Vibe was represented as project
cars throughout a nice handful of exhibitors. Ranging from audio to
exterior graphics and body kits, many exhibitors presented their project
Vibes for the masses with intent to persue the Vibe aftermarket further.
The Vibe, while not as popular at the show as other similarly priced
vehicles, does make a good impression overall when compared to the
scarce coverage from last year's event (other than the remarkable
Pontiac Vibe Autocross).
Support from various aftermarket companies includes RKSport, Street
Graffiti, Phoenix Gold, Kenwood, and a few others.
As Vibe sales continue to increase and hold steady each month, we
can expect more companies to become aware and involved in aftermarket
parts and accessories production.
GM has also stated an overall increase in offering add-on accessories,
performance upgrades, and support throughout their entire vehicle
line-up, which includes the Vibe.
Stay tuned to GenVibe for any new information from this sector.
